70mm(width)×90mm(length) Even if you're not a Ferrari fan, you've surely heard the name Francesco Baracca at least once.
He's the man who inspired the legend of the black prancing horse that appears on Ferrari's emblem.
The hero Baracca, renowned as a World War I ace, had the black prancing horse painted on the fuselage of his own plane.
Baracca was killed in battle in 1918 when his plane crashed near Montero. Five years later, in 1923, Enzo Ferrari, who had won a race in Ravenna, met Baracca's parents. They were entrusted with Baracca's symbolic prancing horse along with a photograph of Baracca.
This later became the origin of Ferrari's prancing horse logo.
This rubber patch was created as an official item by the Italian Air Force.
