1/48 MERCURY is a long-established brand that was born in Turin, Italy in the mid-1940s after World War II, during what could be called the dawn of die-cast models. The brand mark, the MERCURY logo inside a gear, indicates that the company was originally a manufacturer of metal parts for automobiles.
When you think of MERCURY, the first thing that stands out is its box art. The cars depicted in tasteful illustrations must have sparked the dreams of children at the time. The familiar Hachette has released a reprint of this MERCURY die-cast model. It has a simple finish that retains the atmosphere of the time, and of course the box art is perfectly reproduced.
